better be better
You think that you’re better than me
Because you wear a tie
While I pass you by
With my odd socks on and my jumper on inside out
And you think that you’re better than her
Because you shave your legs
Whilst she consciously “flouts this expectation of the patriarchy”
And he thinks that he's better than you because he has a proper job and he pays his taxes 10% of which are spent on building bombs to drop on little brown people overseas
And you think that you're better than him because you do not pay taxes which are spent on the Military Industrial Complex yet you are perfectly happy to have his taxes pay your rent so I guess what I’m saying is that instead of judging others we should always look at ourselves first and be aware of hypocrisy ‘cos I don’t think that i'm better than you but I don’t think that you're better than me either cos we’re both different and we have different value systems so please make sure that the values you have are your own and not imposed from without and remember that not everyone has accepted the rules of the game that most people play yet by the same logic it is hypocritical to complain about the game and then run from the sidelines to the pitch to gain from the parts of the game which will benefit you I’d suggest that it would be better to find some new people to play a new game with and then if it goes well then there may be some people who will join in of their own volition and remember that it’s not a competition, no it’s not a competition, no it’s not a competition no it’s not a competition it’s not a competition, no it’s not a competition, no it’s not a competition no it’s not a competition to conform to an external set of values and create divisions according to how successfully they are obeyed.
But I am not better than you
And you are not better than me
And we will only get better
When we see diversity in unity
Because you wear a tie
While I pass you by
With my odd socks on and my jumper on inside out
And you think that you’re better than her
Because you shave your legs
